Happy October! Spooky season is upon us, and while I don’t love gore and a lot of jump scares, I can get into being a little witchy. I think it’s less about calling upon evil spirits and doing harm to others, as much as using your own magic to get things done.
The things that actually scare me don’t really have much to do with goblins and ghouls (though I do respect ghosts, in case they’re watching). They’re more around not living a life fulfilled on other people’s terms. On not taking the chances or asking the questions to see what good could actually happen. And I am fearful of how little we as a whole seem to care about others and their troubles.
I wish I could wave a magic wand to make all our troubles go away or look into a crystal ball to see what the future holds, but I don’t hold those types of powers. I hold the power to see and share the stories of people who I do think are making a difference for all of us, whether they make a mark on their local community or those looking to change the world.
This week’s guests, Kelsey Ramage and Erin Hayes, are good witches, despite their “Bad Witch Events.” The cofounders of the Black Lagoon pop-up experience at 34 locations (!) across North America, Erin and Kelsey are mixing up award-winning cocktails and even better vibes.
They have a certain magic in them they decided to unleash—and you do too! You just have to find the right spell to cast.
